SHORT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

 

TED University (TEDU) is a young, dynamic and a progressive university, located at the center of Ankara. It was founded by the Turkish Education Association (TED), which has been pioneering the development of education in Turkey since 1928. The University enrolled its inaugural class in 2012. It consists of four faculties: Architecture; Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences; Education, and Engineering.  The English Language School supports the University’s medium of instruction as English and the Basic Sciences Unit provides its first year common core requirements.

PAYMENT OR OTHER BENEFITS

In addition to the Erasmus grant provided by the sending university, TED University will provide the following:

DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACEMENT

TED University aims to provide its students with the best education experience, which would be gained not only in class, but also through extra-curricular activities, civic participation, hence, informal and non-formal learning. The Dean of Students facilitates the communication between the university administration and students and is in charge of creating and carrying out mechanisms for students’ personal development. The office also works closely with the Student Council, provides assistance to student societies and supports their activities. As a part of TEDU’s student-centered vision, the Dean of Students takes active part in handling student issues with constructive approaches and contributes to the university climate that fosters love of learning.

International Programs Office Intern

TED University aims to become an international environment by establishing fruitful partnerships with overseas institutions, welcoming scholars and students from different countries, and providing its own students with opportunities to spend some time of their education abroad and/or participate in international projects. The International Programs Office (IPO) works to this end and carries out the internationalisation of TED University, assists and guides incoming/ outgoing exchange students and staff as well as international degree-seeking students.

 

 

TASKS

 

1. Supporting the daily tasks with regards to exchange programs and bilateral relations;

2. Providing incoming and outgoing exchange students with assistance;

3. Making research regarding international universities, with which TEDU can establish high-quality international cooperation;

DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACEMENT

Project Office Intern

Project Office (PO) is an administrative entity responsible to provide guidance and support for the academic research projects in order to enhance the success of scientific research quality of TEDU.
PO manages intramural research funds, announces national and international project grants, ensures communication between sponsor organizations and TEDU, organizes academic projects database of TEDU and develops new partnerships for future research activities.

PO also manages Research Studio, where TEDU researchers can work, exchange their ideas and organize research-related events.

 

TASKS

 

 The intern of the TEDU PO will:

  1. Research and analyze research-based university performances, institutional research strategy, and implementation;
  2. Organize and support activities of Research Studio ;
  3. Provide institutional assistance to researchers ;
  4. Research and analyze possible research grants for TEDU faculties;
  5. Draft and edit announcements, reports, publications, and other documents;
  6. Support the organization of meetings;

DESCRIPTION OF THE PLACEMENT

 

The Social Innovation Unit is a multifunctional space with a social incubation centre for NGOs, social entrepreneurs and social benefit oriented individuals/groups. Functioning as a co-working space for social good related individuals and groups, and as a hub for social good related events, it aims to offer solutions for social problems both in its immediate environment and in the city. Repositioning the university as an innovative and collaborative actor working for positive social change is one of the main objectives.

 

 

TASKS

 

1. Contributing to the programming of activities, projects, programmes (social incubation centre, technology for social good & design for social change programmes)

2. Assisting the unit coordinators to organise events and workshops

3. Helping keeping track of key metrics for the Social Innovation Unit’s activities

4. Liaising with volunteers and partner organisations and helping in community-building

5. Assisting in developing online communications content. Providing input for social media posts

6. Researching potential international partners and providing input for collaborative international projects
